We aim toward convergence humanities that responds to consilience and convergence made up around natural science and science technology.
Sookmyung Research Institute of Humanities searches for a new cooperative relationship among humanities, natural science, science technology, cultural engineering, new media, etc. and pursues academic convergence from the perspective of humanities and offers insight into the 21st century society.

For the recovery of community where humans are in the center

Humanities are based on the actual lives of people. Rather than being an abstract academic discipline, distant from reality, it is a practical discipline for becoming a wholesome human and for the community.
We hope to share knowledge and values such as sympathy, introspection, justice, critical thinking, imagination, and creative problem-solving based on understanding and thoughts about people and the world together with the university and members of the community. Sookmyung Research Institute of Humanities intends to foster a thematic and holistic human community, and not about functions, tools and targets.
